Got it home and it had two hydraulic rams but none of the requisite hardware, so I returned it. The cheapest I've been able to find it was for around $140 minus the 20% off but I know I've recently seen a coupon listing it for $99. My google search foo has only brought me coupons that have expired.For general purpose use, I highly recommend the 2 ton crane. I wouldn’t go with the 1 ton. The 2 ton is already almost too short in some cases! If you’ll be loading it up to 4000lbs every day, maybe get a higher capacity model from someone else. Aug 10, 2023 · Today I would probably look at a 2 ton Harbor Freight or comparable. Even though you may not need the capacity, it will probably be a more robust unit and you will be happier with it in the end. Go to the store and look at them. There's a $100 difference. The $100 is probably worth it. I’ve pulled a number of engines with my 2 ton hoist from HF. The heaviest so far has been an Oldsmobile 455 V8 out of my 1973 GMC MotorHome, probably around 750lbs. Lifted it at full extension (1/2 ton rating). It was a bit stressful but the crane handled it no problem. There’s probably a hefty safety margin in the 2 ton maximum rating.
