Dec 7, 2017 · Sent it in to Ruger and got it back a week later with a new trigger, springs, etc. Take it to the range the second time and it shoots great. A nice gun to shoot. Problem again. A new problem on a brand new gun. Now it's the slide. With the slide locked back, load a mag into the well, the slide releases and loads the chamber all on its own. Yes, I feel I have had some experience with semi-auto guns. I also have a Ruger SR9 (which I think has a stronger recoil spring than the SR9c) and a Ruger LCP (which I replaced the 9# recoil springs with 11# recoil springs). The same thing happened to me with a Stoeger shotgun, but neither owners manual mentions this. It seems I'm having this issue every time I strip the gun. It seems like the recoil spring pops out of the spot it sits on the barrel when I push the slide back to put the takedown pin back in. Because I lock the slide back, then release the slide and move it forward to remove the slide again, and it's already stuck.

I was shooting factory Blazer Brass 115's and 124's as well as my reloads and the problem persisted no matter what ammo I used.
