And when you are killing them, make sure they are not directly ontop of you when they die. Anyways since this is just a skill issue theres a very easy way to fix this that a lot of people do: Use a spirit mask or a bonzo mask.

Mage is useless in F7 without Hyperion. The whole point of mage is to clear rooms fast, and spirit sceptre Nons will clear a room 10x slower than a hype mage. They also do 10x less average damage.
