Nov 11, 2012 · Wanted to show you my newest addition. This is my 1957 Magnavox. Like new condition. Playing some 50's 78's for you. I saw a Magnificent Magnavox Tube Console at the GW today. I could not find a model number on it. It also had a seperate speaker cabinet of about the same size. It was a light colored[almost yellow] wood. They both had small short legs. The orginal turntable had been removed and a Realistic Lab 36 installed. I didn`t see a radio.The Magnavox Historical Preservation Association was formed in 2010. Its mission is to collect and preserve the history and artifacts of The Magnavox Company of Tennessee. In addition, it seeks to use the collection for the education of present and future generations and give “voice” once again to the “Great Voice” – Magnavox.

Up for bid is a vintage 'The Magnificent Magnavox' tube radio. Seems to be in great working order, a little crackle noted when adjusting the volume. It has 4 knobs on the front- the lower left is FM AM PHONO and AUX, the left upper is loudness, the right upper is tuning and the right lower is on/off/tone adjustment. The Concert Grand line which had it's last gasp in this time frame was Magnavox's high end lineup. Those were very powerful for consoles and had open reel recorders and/or 8 track. And those had 40 watts/channel amplifiers and high end speakers for a console. And were $1200-$1400 without color TV.
