First of all, having a short (under 16”) barrel along with a Title 1 weapon is a BAD IDEA! Second, under BATF regulations the manufacturer of the Title II weapon (SBR) MUST engrave their information on the weapon whether it’s you using a Form 1 or a Type 07/Class II manufacturer. Trick is to drill on the side of the pin that is covered just enough to be able to tap it out. The barrel will be fine and you would be able to reuse and reinstall as is if you want.
