Four Legs Good is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing the most humane treatment of Rockland County animals in need. We started as a small group of dedicated volunteers who decided to make a difference in the lives of feral, homeless and abandoned animals. We are currently working out of the RG CARES Animal Shelter.Each year, the Athens Limestone Animal Shelter accepts almost 4,000 dogs and cats from animal control officers in Athens and Limestone County and from citizens who find strays or can no longer care for their pets. Every effort is made to reunite lost animals with their families and to find loving, forever homes for every adoptable dog and cat. The Buncombe County Animal Shelter will be closed on March 29, 2024, for Good Friday. Emergency services will be available for 15 minutes at 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 3:00 PM. The Adoption Center will operate with normal operating hours: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, and closed between 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM for animal naptime .
