Once you are able to craft stronger buildings, then you can start making a larger base. You will still want to start small to go unnoticed and then expand outward. Ideally, you will still want to choose a place that is easy to defend. A cliff, island, or cave helps to mitigate the way players can break into your base.

That means the south desert and the river east to the jungle. You can always build a bigger one later, after you have some experience and materials stored up. The Stand is located north of The Summoning Place and east of The Hand of the Maker. It has a pretty high plateau, which can be used for base-building. Currently our main base is at Godsclaw Passage but we'd like to make a base closer to an obelisk. We were thinking near the sinkhole due to its central location but I've been reading on here that that doesn't really matter and I guess with an obelisk it doesn't.
